Personal Training Prices

image-1

If you’ve been referred from a friend you probably already know the prices of our personal training so you don’t need to ask.

If you have found us by searching for some of our most popular search terms such as ‘Personal Trainer Dublin’ or ‘Best Personal Trainer in Dublin’ or ‘Gym in Dublin’ then the first thing you probably did was click on the PRICES button.

In order for me to talk about pricing, let’s discuss what pricing actually means for us here at The Abs Gym:
Usually, when you hear that something is expensive, you immediately think one of two things:

  • tick
    That’s a rip off
  • tick
    That’s extremely good quality

Imagine you have just started a course in French or German and the teacher has guaranteed you will be fluent by the end of it. That would be a great investment, right?
With our personal training services, you are essentially learning a new language. What you do in your sessions will feed in to every aspect of your life – training, nutrition and lifestyle management. The return you get from working with us far outweighs your upfront investment.

Without coming across as arrogant or big-headed, think for a moment about Apple, Audi or Goodyear. These brands are expensive because they are good at what they do. When you purchase a product from one of these companies, you are making an investment.
However, it is important not to get tricked into paying more for fancy products and services that do not add value. For example, in the health and fitness world, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms and juice bars are all absolutely pointless if you are not getting the results you want from your training. You can join a perfectly good gym in Dublin for around €30/month if you want these things.

If you are looking for the cheap option, then I suggest you join a bootcamp or fitness class because you will still be in good hands if the trainer is experienced. However, be wary of trainers charging minimal amounts of money for his/her services because then you are probably not in good hands.

Personal training is a profession, not a commodity.  We are professionals and we are as responsible for your health and well-being as your doctor, dentist or physiotherapist. The result of this is that we charge professional fees.

If you want to shop around on price and get the cheapest personal trainer out there, then do so. You will end up with the fitness equivalent of this tattoo:

Our trainers are not here to pamper you. We are a team of well-trained and experienced health professionals running a results-based business. We are not your run-of-the-mill fitness instructors. Need I say more?

Think about pricing this way:

If you have a date in mind like a wedding or a reunion wouldn’t you like to get to your goal quicker and in better health than you would by paying less? Often times the cheaper option can take longer, with some people never reaching their desired goals.

Perhaps you want to gain muscle as fast as possible. Do you want to be a guinea pig for a young trainer somewhere who has never actually done this before? Or do you want a personal trainer who has helped hundreds of people do exactly what you want to do?
You will definitely find cheaper personal trainers out there – but they will not be the best.

Another reason we charge professional prices is that we don’t do run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter programs. We design personalised programs based on your current abilities and goals. The bottom line is that we are specialists. When you train with us, you are putting your safety and well-being in our hands and we promise to deliver.

You have probably heard of the phrase ‘Jack of all trades, master of none.’ You have probably also heard of the phrase ‘If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys’.

In fact, as one of our clients said to us recently:

‘I would regard you guys as the best and that’s why I’m prepared to pay you a little more than the rest…by the way your website is crap’ (We have gotten a new website since then… nice huh?)

Good thing he wasn’t slagging our training expertise. That would have hurt my feelings!

At The Abs Gym, we don’t actually charge per hour so it is very difficult to give a roundabout figure as to what your personal training will cost. If I were to give you a generic per hour charge I’d have to make something up here because it doesn’t exist for us. It doesn’t exist because it doesn’t make sense because each of our clients is different.

You could want 2 days per week for 3 months. You could only want to do one session per week for the rest of your life but also want a program to take away and do yourself on other days. You might live in Cork and travel up to Dublin once per month to get body fat assessments and have a ‘refresher personal training session’. You may even be really experienced in the gym and simply need a new program for working on your own. Or maybe you want to do 4 sessions per week for the month before a wedding. Or one session per week and attend our bootcamps on the other days.

The possibilities are endless and I’m not about to list them all here because simply put, there are countless different options to choose from.

The best thing to do is to book in for a free ‘no obligations’ consultation and we will go through everything with you in person. Our trainers will meet you and assess your goals to help you decide what program is for you.
