The gym culture in Ireland completely neglects beginner female trainees at every turn.
Instagram is full of #irishfitfam people that give off the image of all personal training studios being all about illuminous spandex, selfies and more posing than training. This is simply not the case.
The other side of the coin is even worse. It’s just taken for granted that women are going to just do a bit of cardio and lie on the floor and do some setups and that's enough for them.
The idea that women need to train like that is perpetuated by silly fit celebrity magazines and aerobics classes from the 80’s and 90’s.
Cardio, pink weights and jumping up and down on an aerobic step? Because that’s what girls do, right?
Wrong.
